The development of digital methods is one of the most fundamental and important tasks of the Humanities in the 21^st century. Within linguistics, the globalized process of digitization has led to the creation of electronic resources and to the development and adaptation of new methods based upon modern technology in both research and teaching.

 

The aim of the conference on “Language and Modern Technologies” is the international exchange and mutual sharing of experiences in the compilation of textual corpora, the computational modelling of languages, the development of means for machine translation, electronic learning, and the digital documentation of languages.

 

Themes of the conference:

• Computational modelling of language

• Corpus linguistics

• Interdisciplinary applications of corpora (eLearning, translation, lexicography…)

• Electronic means for language documentation

• Volume: not exceeding 1000 words

• Fonts: Sylfaen for Georgian; Times New Roman for English and Russian

• Font size: 12

• Format: both MS Word and PDF

Abstracts should be sent to the following email address:  lmt2015@ice.ge

Abstracts written in Georgian and Russian should be accompanied by an English translation.

Plenary talk – 45 minutes

Presentation – 30 minutes

Talk – 20 minutes

Discussion – 10 minutes
